Nine-8ths Irish
Time: 8:30 PM (US/Pacific) Location: The Palms Playhouse, 13 Main Street, WintersHighly acclaimed Sacramento band Nine-8ths Irish combines the talents of five accomplished musicians to present music that is “Irish and a wee bit more.” Incorporating their experiences in a wide variety of musical genres —from bluegrass and jazz to country and and contest fiddling—into traditional Irish music, Nine-8ths Irish enjoys sharing their love of this dynamic music with audiences throughout northern California and beyond. Nine-8ths Irish began its journey to bring Irish music closer to its California home in 2007, with the release of West of Ireland, the band’s debut album. West of Ireland, which has received radio airplay from coast to coast, was also the Celtic music debut for FGM Records, the band’s label. Nine-8ths Irish is Chris Dunlap, bodhrán, cajon and vocals; Linda Relph, fiddle and vocals; Bo Bowen, whistles; Kathy Barwick, guitar, five-string banjo, acoustic bass and vocals; and Brady McKay, vocals. Out on the Ocean, the band’s second album, is an inspired blend of songs and tunes that includes standard Irish session tunes, subtly modernized arrangements of traditional songs, sterling new tunes written by Linda Relph and even an a cappella vocal quartet number. The wide range of material on the album helps showcase the diverse talents of each member of the band. With the release of the eclectic and accomplished Out on the Ocean, Nine-8ths Irish takes its place among the most compelling, crowd-pleasing and original bands playing traditional Irish music within the U.S. The band will be performing at national festivals and doing regional touring.

Skynnyn Lynnyrd
Time: 8:30 PM (US/Pacific) Location: The Palms Playhouse, 13 Main Street, WintersSkynnyn Lynnyrd is more than just a tribute band to Lynyrd Skynyrd. Skynnyn Lynnyrd has stripped the sound of the legendary band down to its finest detail and re-assembled it, not as a cover, but as it was intended. Skynnyn Lynnyrd began to take form at the very moment of the tragic crash that ended the lives of Ronnie VanZant, Steve and Cassie Gains as well as Dean Kilpatrick. An American saga ended on that day in 1977, leaving a void that begs to be filled by millions of fans all over the world. It's about the music... real, honest and often edgy. Every nuance and detail is pursued with passion and determination...to be performed as if by the original band. Skynnyn Lynnyrd is the "Reloaded" Lynyrd Skynyrd. The parity is remarkable...so much so that one may be inclined to believe there is some divine intervention going on here; as if guided by the spirit of the original band members who departed so long ago. While there will never be another Lynyrd Skynyrd, Skynnyn Lynnyrd is Lynyrd Skynyrd - - - RELOADED. Check it out y'all.
